C2A... FYI Pledge Bill Passes in the NC House! Friends,
The Pledge of Allegiance bill passed the NC House today by a vote of 106-1! Thank you for your calls, emails and faxes to Speaker Black. Our values were clearly expressed today and this proves once again that when we work together and speak with one voice we can succeed.
The Pledge bill will now go back to the NC Senate for "concurrence" - a necessary step since it is now under a different bill number than it was last year when it passed the Senate unanimously. This should take place next Wednesday or Thursday, and barring any unforeseen trouble, will be ready for the Governor's signature after that. We will update you next week as events unfold.
Remarkably, this has take over a year and a half to get this done. It has been very frustrating at times and has shown the best and worst sides of our political system, but our unwavering commitment has brought us another great victory. Thank you for all of your support, and please continue to pray for the timely passing of this bill into North Carolina State Law.
In His Service,
Steve Noble
Chairman
P.S. There are many people to thank, and we will make their emails available upon final passage of the bill.
