"The Runway" hearing

Judge Cashwell has issued his ruling on "The Runway" case and he ruled in our favor!  The Judge agreed with the appeal of the local business owners and has struck down the decision of the Board of Adjustments which granted a Special Use Permit to the owners of the proposed "strip joint".  Check out the previous ActionGram here.

Thank you for your prayers...and Praise the Lord for His intervention!

We are waiting for the actual written order and then to see what the "The Runway" owners will do next.  This will most likely go one of two directions, but it depends on the strength of Judge Cashwell's written order.  Here are the most likely paths:

• The strip joint developers have the right to take their case to the next judicial level, which is the Appellate Court.  Their goal would be to get Judge Cashwell's ruling overturned.
• Depending on the strength of the written order, the strip joint developers may choose to go back to the Board of Adjustments and try again with a new request.

If this goes to the next court level, we will simply have to continue this fight on our knees in prayer.  If they decide to take another shot with the Board of Adjustments, we will mount a public pressure campaign, with the centerpiece being the involvement of Brier Creek homeowners and business owners.  We missed our opportunity to do this with the first Board of Adjustments hearing...we won't miss it again.

Please continue to lift this effort up in your prayers, and specifically ask God to sustain and encourage the local business owners who had the guts to take a stand and put their money on the table for our community.   Also, please pass this email on to as many local people as you can, especially if they live in the Brier Creek development!
