Follow-Up: Roe v. Wade Overturned?

Friends,

After my recent trip up to South Dakota (see the original FYI here), I am more convinced than ever that if we simply band together and speak with one voice, we can change the culture in our country.

The effort to pass their abortion ban law is bathed in prayer, involves strong cooperation across denominational lines, and is simply relentless.  There are yard signs, bumper stickers and buttons everywhere.  They know this is an "Esther Moment" and they are standing strong in their faith and in obedience to the Lord's words in Matthew 25:

"...whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me."

They were surprised that someone would travel from across the country to stand with them, and their words of thanks were generous and humbling.  When I spoke at the rally, I let them know that although they lose 800 children a year to abortion in South Dakota, we lose over 30,000 a year in North Carolina.  I told them we were going to pray for them so that we too might have the opportunity to take action on behalf of God's smallest and most defenseless children in our state, as well as their mothers & fathers.   

If this passes, it will be on the fast-track to the U.S. Supreme Court.  Many of us have not dared to think that Roe could be overturned in our lifetime...

but when we show up in force on election day we can elect the right representatives and judges so that we can do what is right and just through our government.

When we stay home, things like the taking of unborn life go on and on and on...
