Congress wants to silence Christians!

Friends,

Efforts have been underway in both houses of Congress to make it very difficult for Christians to engage in the political process. In essence, if these bills are passed they will require Pastors and groups like Called2Action to register with the government as lobbyists! With that comes an endless list of regulations, filings and even possible fines! The effort was beat back in the Senate, but now the U.S. House is toying with the idea.

Please take two steps to help us fight back this effort to silence our voices:

Visit our friends at the American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ) and sign the petition that will be presented to the House leadership. You can find it here.
Visit this helpful page at the Family Research Council site and send a note to your Representative in Congress. Let them know that you strongly oppose any attempt to silence your Christian opinion or that of your Pastor. Here is what I sent to my Representative:
Mr. Miller,

As an active voter, I expect you to oppose any effort by the Congress to oppress my right to speak out on the issues, to join with other like-minded folks to speak with one voice, or my pastor's right to speak on the issues from the pulpit. H.R. 4682 is unconstitutional and it is your duty to oppose it on behalf of the free speech rights of your constituents!

As always, please pray that God would grant us this victory as we defend our right to speak out on the issues that we are most concerned about!
