Marriage Battle...We Must Keep the Heat On!

Friends,

The homosexual activist groups are working daily to see our initiative fail. They are well organized and well funded (check out their "Lobby Day" efforts here). However, we have an overwhelming majority...but that only matters if we make our voices heard!

Now that the House bill (H493) has been placed in a "holding pattern", we need to re-double our efforts. Please take a few moments TODAY to do the following:

Pray for the Legislative leadership to let these bills out for a vote.

Call House Speaker Hackney's office at (919)733-3451 and politely tell them that you support the Defense of Marriage bill and expect the new Speaker of the House to make sure it gets a fair hearing and a vote by April 15th. With a majority of House members already signing the bill, this should be quite simple!

Call the Chairman of the committee (Rep. Owens) where the bill currently resides at (919)733-0010 and ask him to do everything in his power to make sure our representatives have a fair chance to vote on this critical legislation. Remind him that a majority of his fellow legislators have already signed onto the bill as co-sponsors!

Send a short email to the entire committee asking them to do their part to see that this bill gets a fair hearing and a vote. Simply copy and paste this list into your email address bar!
