NC Legislators may BAN ABSTINENCE EDUCATION and replace it with RADICAL COMPREHENSIVE SEX ED!

Friends,

Our State Legislature is about to play Russian Roulette with the health of our school children. Two bills, H879 (House) and S1182 (Senate), are poised to be released from committee to the floors for a vote.

If these reckless bills pass, they will ban Abstinence Until Marriage Sex-Ed for North Carolina children (our standard for the last decade) and force so-called "Comprehensive Sex-Ed" into the classroom. In fact, these bills will prohibit public schools from teaching a true abstinence education curriculum in the future! If that isn't enough to sicken you, check out some of the other "benefits" of this irresponsible legislation:

Starting in the 7th grade, our public school teachers will be promoting ALL FDA approved methods of preventing pregnancy and "reducing the risk" of contracting sexually transmitted diseases (STD's), including: male condoms, female condoms, diaphragms, cervical caps, sponges, spermicidal jellies, vaginal contraceptive rings, etc. This new curriculum goes one step further and doesn't even give accurate failure rates for teens, giving them a false sense of security!
Promotion of "alternative" sexual behaviors and relationships, putting homosexual, bisexual, and other multi-partner relationships on an equal footing with traditional marriage.
Provisions in these bills will silence any bias against sexual orientation or gender identity, regardless of the FACT that sexual deviancy results in radically increased levels of STD's including HIV/AIDS.
These bills don't just mention homosexuality, bisexuality, transgendered and cross-dressing behaviors...they actually AFFIRM THEM.

The first battle is in the House Committee on Health and will take place this Thursday, April 26th at noon. ALL DAY WEDNESDAY (4/25) AND AGAIN ON THURSDAY MORNING (4/26) WE MUST FLOOD THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS WITH CALLS & EMAILS URGING THEM TO KILL THIS BILL! Let them know you are 100% against this radical and reckless attempt to sexualize North Carolina school children! Below is the contact information for every committee member. If your own representative is on the committee, YOUR VOICE WILL BE ESPECIALLY HELPFUL!
